March Plaid-Ness

Old rules dictate that a patterned tie over a patterned shirt is a faux pas. Maybe the rules haven’t changed, but merely there’s an addendum to the former beliefs. I’m doing a plaid tie over a plaid shirt today and it’s able to work for a few simple reasons. Chiefly, the tie and shirt share a common color, in this case being navy. Furthermore, the shirt only has two colors in it. The simplicity of it makes it easier to mix patterns. Finally, I broke it up a bit with a solid cardigan over it too.

I also added a bit more panache with the aqua lightweight chinos. The ability to dress up or down the pant no matter how warm it gets means you’ll be seeing more of it soon.

I linked below some of the items so you can get them yourself!
